Method

Service performance tracking without the dashboard fog

This page outlines how we teach business analytics for service performance tracking: invent less, define more, and review only what can change the next shift.

Manager presenting performance notes in a meeting

Three layers we insist on

Dictionary. Shared names and formulas for every measure that appears in a review.

Scorecard. A short list of outcomes and leading signals with owners and refresh rules.

Cadence. A weekly exception review plus a monthly leadership readout that does not duplicate the same slides.

1

Start with journeys, not tiles

We map request intake, fulfilment, and recovery paths before anyone designs a chart. Metrics that cannot point to a journey step are candidates for retirement.

2

Prefer countable exceptions

Performance tracking improves when supervisors can name the five tickets or sites that broke the week — not when averages move by tenths of a percent.

3

Document uncertainty

Every scorecard includes a freshness note and known blind spots. Pretending precision is a training failure we refuse to model.
